We built ALF Ancestry App — a modern, AI‑powered genealogy platform designed to help users preserve their family history for generations. The project focused on creating a fast, secure web application with document import, AI‑driven analysis, customizable pedigree editing, and automated lineage mapping, all delivered through a clean and trustworthy user experience.

• Full Ground‑Up Web App Build: A complete application built with Vite, featuring a modern, responsive interface and a smooth, app‑like user experience.

• Secure Login & User Accounts: A full authentication system allowing users to create accounts, save progress, and securely manage their family history data.

• Document Import & AI Analysis: Users can upload PDFs, images, and text documents which are processed by AI to extract names, relationships, dates, and lineage information.

• Automated Pedigree Diagram Generation: AI‑powered mapping that converts extracted data into clean, structured family tree diagrams and multi‑generation pedigree charts.

• Customizable Pedigree Editor: An interactive, drag‑and‑drop editor where users can reposition nodes, create new ancestors, edit relationships, and build connections directly in the UI — giving full control over the structure of their family tree.

• Genealogy Assistant: An AI assistant capable of answering complex questions about a user’s family tree — identifying ancestors, spotting gaps, summarising lineages, and more.

• Database‑Backed Storage: A structured database for storing documents, extracted data, user trees, and generated diagrams.
